Evas is a canvas library, designed to work with the X Window System. It is designed to be able to take advantage of any graphics hardware or CPU processing power you may have, or to adjust for the lack of it. It has a simplistic API to access the features of a canvas to aid in making development using Evas easy.
feh is a fast, lightweight image viewer that uses imlib2. It is command line-driven and supports multiple images through slideshows, thumbnail browsing or multiple windows, and montages or index prints using TrueType fonts to display file information. Advanced features include fast dynamic zooming, progressive loading, loading via HTTP (with reload support for watching webcams), recursive file opening (slideshow of a directory hierarchy), and mouse wheel and keyboard control.
Geist is an object-based image editor, designed to be used in conjunction with the GIMP. While the GIMP specializes in pixel editing, geist deals with objects. Geist's specialties are antialiased truetype fonts and a full RGBA colorspace with transparent objects blended quickly in realtime. Supported objects are lines, text (with wordwrapping and font styles), rectangles, images (zoomed or scaled with or without antialiasing), and polygons. Geist saves documents in XML, and can export to all image formats supported by imlib2.
Gifsicle is a powerful command-line program for manipulating GIF image files. It has good support for transparency and colormap manipulation, simple image transformations (cropping, flipping), and creating, deconstructing, and editing GIF animations. It can also optimize GIF animations for space. Also included is a GIF animation viewer and a program that checks whether two GIFs look the same.
Gronk is a Web-based MP3 jukebox. It generates heavily-hyperlinked Web pages listing all of your ripped CDs, by extracting information from CDDB data. These Web pages allow easy selection of songs or albums to play, and when nothing has been explicitly selected, it selects songs randomly. Playback is done via either XMMS or mpg123.
GSI is an easy-to-use network audio system that gives applications, through a very simple API, sample playing with stereo, 3D, doppler effects, music playing (MIDI, HMP, MUS), and CD playing and ejecting/changing. GSI also contains a separately usable sound/music loading/saving/format conversion library libgsif, although saving/format conversion is not completely done. It is known to run on Linux, OpenBSD, and FreeBSD, with support for /dev/audio (8000Hz mono mulaw), OSS, ultrasound project drivers, and FreeBSD's pcm system (from 0.9.4 on).
